Privates & Yoga Therapy 

Julie continues the ancient tradition of yoga teaching by offering private sessions adapted to your interests and needs. Here you can advance at your own pace, develop a home practice, address specific issues and work towards healing injuries or limitations in a safe, supportive environment.

Julie has helped clients gain strength and flexibility and has worked with the following conditions: anxiety, depression, asthma, arthritis, back, neck, knee, shoulder pain, S.I. pain, sciatica, lupus, cancer and H.I.V., hypertension, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, women's reproductive issues, (PMS, Menopause) and smoking cessation. She recommends checking with your doctor before beginning practice if you have a serious illness or condition.

Private yoga/movement/talk therapy sessions are also available for those wishing deeper emotional release and healing. Here the body/mind is engaged in practices of movement, stillness and dialogue. Traditional counseling is also offered.  Julie holds an M.A. in Psychology/Drama Therapy from the California Insitute of Integral Studies and is a licensed psychotherapist (MFT). She maintains a private practice in San Francisco and Berkeley offering mind/body approaches to healing. 
 
Nad Yoga: The Yoga of Sound.  Julie incorporates the use of sound into many of her classes through the use of vocalization, Sanskrit chanting, singing and the Indian tamboura. She is available for private chant lessons and also teaches workshops on the Yoga of Sound.
